Leo & Violet: Violet Ann

We had a bit of a scare with Violet the weekend after she came home. She ended up with a flu bug of some sort. We ended up taking her into the emergency room because she was vomitting, lethargic and not eating. All of the tests they ran came back normal - so they determined that it was just a bug and that she was dehydrated. Luckily, while in the ER, she started eating a 1/2 ounce at a time - an keeping it down - so she didn't have to be hospitalized. She has been on the mend since then and doing well!

At her 2 week check up, she weighed 9 lbs, 4 oz...she gained all of her weight back plus an ounce! Dr. Murdoch thought she was still a little dehydrated, so we have been busy nursing as much as possible - every 2-3 hours!

Violet Ann is now almost 4 weeks old...

...and so far, Violet and I have only spent one day at home alone - this past Tuesday. Scott went back to work a week ago Wednesday and the last of our company left last Sunday. Violet and I were supposed to have some time alone this past week but Scott was home sick on Monday and Leo came home with Strep on Tuesday afternoon...Leo was home with us the rest of the week! Needless to say, it wasn't a very quiet or relaxing week:) We will try again next week...

Scott's Sister Evy and her 2 kids came to visit us from Denver. Leo had a blast playing with Alex and Audra! Here are all 3 of them in the tub...

While Evy and the kids were here, the rest of the Petrowski's came down to visit. We celebrated cousin Anya's 5th birthday at the AmericInn - swimming, a pinata, pin the tail on the donkey and all! Having all of the cousins on both the Schmidt and Petrowski sides together, we took a picture...

Leo LOVES "Baby Biolet"! He is such a good big brother! He kisses her all the time, constantly wants to touch and hold her and is always worried about where she is and what she is doing! We have resorted to having to put her on the table because Leo won't leave her alone if she is in her chair on the floor. Here is Big Brother Leo holding Violet..
